Francesco Pastacaldi

an adventurous and open-minded musician, born in Florence (Italy) in 1978. In 2003, he was accepted into the jazz department of the CNSM in Paris. In search of a more radical sound, he founded the group JEAN LOUIS with Aymeric Avice and Joachim Florent. The trio's brutal approach to sound did not prevent them from winning second prize as a group at the 2007 Jazz à la Défense competition, and Francesco won third prize as an instrumentalist.

He works with artists who are as radical as they are diverse, including Hungarian saxophonist Akosh S, contemporary music ensemble Quatuor Béla, singers Fantazio and David Lafore, punk garage band Cheveu, Syrian flautist Naïssam Jalal, trio ABACAXI and quartet BRIQUE.
