Diana Combo
Diana Combo has been working with sound since finishing her studies on Sound and Image. Being constantly in touch with people from different artistic fields has made her aware of the infinite possibilities within the creative practice. It´s hard to tell what she is, but one thing is clear: sound makes her move, and those working with it do too.
A list of the activities she has done so far includes a solo performing project using deformed vinyl records, participation in several workshops (from improvisation to field recordings and diy electronics), teaching sound art at ESAD (Superior School of Arts and Design - Caldas da Raínha, Portugal) and collaboration in workshops and performance situations.
She has had the pleasure to play with Andrea Neumann, João Martins, Filipe Silva, Ana Veloso, Liz Allbee, Antoine Chessex, Mário Costa, Werner Dafeldecker, Eduardo Raon, Marcelo dos Reis, Jorge Queijo, Burkhard Beins, Peixe, Zé Miguel Pinto, João Ricardo and Nate Wooley.
At the present moment, Diana is preparing her project for a residency at ausland - a visual work that has as its starting point the sound experience and that will give her the chance to reflect about the influences she has been receiving from the ones around her. Afterwards, she aims to develop other solo and collaborative projects around Portugal where she return soon and resume her work at the record shop Matéria Prima.
