Piezo, Little Amps and Performance
a workshop about performance and acoustic toys & gadgets
by Ariel Efraim Ashbel - Director, Maya Dunietz - Composer and Performer and Yair Reshef - technological art & invention

Maya Dunietz and Ariel Efraim Ashbel are a creative team that has been working together on many projects in the past 10 years. They give frequent lectures and workshops in many institutions in Israel including Tel Aviv university, Jerusalem University, Minshar Academic school for Arts, Thelma Yellin high school for performing arts, and also in various institutions and occasions around the world including workshops in Finland, New York, Angola, Norway and more.
Yair Reshef is a mad scientist and artist creating cutting edge technology for numerous galleries and museums in Israel and around the world, he also works with various groups and companies in developing new technologies and gadgets, programming and hacking.
Reshef has collaborated with Ashbel and Dunietz many times in the past 10 years, making many strange technological gadgets that were used in various performances created by these bandits.

the workshop will consist of two parts:
1) "The story of Chikos"
a short performance/lecture involving "Chikos" - by Ashbel and Dunietz, the lecture will be held using wireless "mouth speakers" we built for the piece. We'll demonstrate how the system is built, how it works and the ways in which the technology is implemented in the piece (and how it actually shaped it's contents).

2)working with piezo - various wonderful things that can be done with this little chip, including learning to build little amps for them, connecting them to LED and more...
