Bricolageis a quarterly music series that partners artists from the creative capitals of Berlin and Chicago in an exploration of collaborative work in the Covid era.
Co-curated by experimental musicians Magda Mayas and Dave Rempis, the series attempts to create new artistic partnerships, as well as new models for remote collaboration in this unprecedented time. Bricolage encourages artists to work creatively with the technological means available, and their limitations, to create new models that may have use and impact even after this era.
Bricolage is produced and broadcast by venue partners in each city, Elastic Arts in Chicago, and ausland in Berlin.

Carol Genetti is a Chicago-based vocalist whose work encompasses sound and visual art media. Her palette is primordial, existing in a space where "language" and "music" have yet to be formulated into familiar cultural patterns. Genetti’s aesthetic is one of raw power, yet also delicate and subtle. She likes to combine various devices with her vocal performance as she "refracts and abrades her wordless vocals with electronics" (Bill Meyer). She has performed with many improvising musicians, including Birgit Ulher, Benjamin Vergara, Jack Wright, Eric Leonardson, Peter Maunu, Olivia Block. Most recent recordings include a duet with Claire Rousay "Live at Elastic Arts" and a collaborative release with visual artist Gwyneth Zeleny Anderson "Chyme".
Ute Wassermann studied sound art and performance art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg, and singing at the University of California, San Diego. She tours the world as an improviser, she realizes audiovisual voice performances & installations as well as compositions for soloists and ensembles. At the core of her research is an ongoing and uncompromised exploration of her voice. Ute Wassermann´s other-worldly singing transcends the human voice. Her methods to extend and alienate the voice include the use of bird whistles, lo-fi electronics, resonators, field recordings and different types of microphones. She has performed at festivals and venues throughout Europe, Australia, Mexico, Brazil and Asia and premiered numerous compositions especially written for her voice with new music ensembles and orchestras.
Recent commissions for compositions by Ryogoku Art Festival, University of Amsterdam, Poetica Sonora Mexico City, Transart Festival Bolzano, maulwerker, Distractfold Ensemble, MaerzMusik, Westdeutscher Rundfunk.
