Zustand D.
A clarinet feeds back into itself.
Breath enters a loop—extended, destabilized, and re-injected through amplification, effects, and space. What begins as a controlled gesture gradually detaches, forming a system that responds on its own terms.
Zustand D. names this performative state: a shifting condition in which sound, body, and environment are bound together in unstable feedback relations. Control becomes relative. Listening becomes spatial.
Within this system, time behaves elastically—stretching toward near stillness or condensing into dense, accelerated motion. Perception drifts between immediacy and distance, detail and overview.
In a moment where larger systems—ecological, technological, political—become increasingly difficult to grasp, these shifts offer a subtle reorientation: not outside of what is happening, but slightly offset within it.
