Sandra Coutinho

Sandra Coutinho is one of the pioneers of Brazilian post-punk and indie rock. As a founding member, bassist, singer, and artistic director of the band Mercenárias,
she has been one of the leading voices of the Brazilian alternative scene since 1982. Her work combines experimental sound exploration, electronic composition, and live
performance, spanning a spectrum from the São Paulo rock scene of the 1980s to the European avant-garde and on to Brazil’s contemporary music scene.
