Mat Pogo's solo performances are a mix of rock'n'roll, noise, nonsense language, electronics, abstract story theatre and screaming in a electro acoustic, entertaining mash-up, where music, sounds, anecdotic and narrative elements fuse constantly.
Improviser, music producer, DJ and cartoonist, Pogo was born in Rome in 1970 and now lives in Berlin. He has been a strong voice on the European underground scene since the early 1990s. Among other things, he co-founded the cult multimedia collective Burp Enterprise and the avant-garde pop band Jealousy Party.
Beside Jealousy Party and some solo performing, Pogo's current projects are Penates with JD Zazie, DJ collective Sistemi Audiofobici Burp and a duo with french audio casseur Arnaud Rivière.
Berlin based projects he's been involved with are out rock units B Unit (with JD Zazie and Peter Schlewinski) and Pokemachine (with Anders Hana) and duos with Ignaz Schick, Michael Renkel, Nicolas Wiese.
