Liza Root

Liza Root is a Berlin based gaffer and lighting designer. They studied Philosophy in Scotland and trained technically on set in Berlin on music videos, commercials, cinema, TV and theatre. Their job needs to juggle the toughness of steel and the delicacy of light in order to let the heart of a piece shine through as much as possible. Always aiming for magic. Working in Berlin has meant working in a diverse, stimulating and meaningful context. In the last year being able to be part of the international, empathetic, critical and ambitious teams who are making The House of Yang, El Canal de Mancha, Cabin Fever! and The Insisting Body has been a real honour.
