Astrid Weins’ instrumentale Entwicklung ging konsequent abwärts. Über Geige, Saxophon und Bassklarinette fand sie ihren Abgrund schließlich beim Kontrabass. Auf diesem Instrument ist sie eine gefragte Spezialistin innovativer Spieltechniken und trat in verschiedenen Formationen auf internationalen Festivals in Deutschland, Frankreich, England und den USA auf. Ihre präzise musikalische Auffassungsgabe wird in stilistisch unterschiedlichsten Zusammenhängen geschätzt.

Astrid Weins’ instrumental career was consequently going downhill. Via violin, saxophone, and bass clarinet, she found her final abyss (chasm) with the double bass. On this instrument she is a demanded specialist for innovative instrumental techniques and performed in various groups on international festivals in Germany, France, Britain, and the USA. Her precise musical and intellectual grasp is highly estimated in many different contexts.
