Sointu Pere
is a dance artist and cultural worker based in Berlin. She studied cultural management in Helsinki and holds a BA in Culture and Arts. In 2021 she completed the Dance Intensive Program at Tanzfabrik Berlin. Her work engages in embodied research and incorporates soft approaches of activism. For her dance and art are ways to call for action that encourages to embrace empathy and compassion as a method for change. Beyond the dance field she uses analog photography as a slow way of captivating the essence of beautiful souls and moments. It is a tool for mindful presence and an intentional pause. She has collaborated as a performer, for instance, at Sophiensaele and Uferstudios and contributed to supporting with the movement language in Sarah Ama Duah’s work, which was recently shown at HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Most recently her work has been supported by A.PART Festival.
