Jiayi Wu

Jiayi Wu (they/them) grew up in China and moved to Berlin in 2023. They are Deaf and queer. They are currently learning German Sign Language (DGS) and German. They enjoy playing football and taking photos.

They are interested in Berlin’s diverse cultural landscape and enjoy experiencing the encounters and connections between different cultures. They particularly appreciate the way different backgrounds, perspectives and forms of expression come together in Berlin. The city’s openness and diversity inspire them to explore identity, creativity and new ways of expressing themselves.

For Jiayi, Berlin is not only a place to live and create, but also a space to continuously discover different cultures, broaden their perspective and explore their own ways of expression. They value the cultural exchange and connections that emerge when people from different backgrounds meet, share experiences and influence one another.

They work with performer Inky Lee and started doing lights at ausland in 2024.
