Abigail Akavia
Abigail Akavia is a performer, translator, writer, mover, and scholar of ancient Greek tragedy. Since leaving academia, her practice on and off-stage blends autotheory, research, choreography, voice, and music.
Her bookDancing with Philoctetes: Reflections on Pain and Remembrancewas published in 2023. Earlier that year, her co-creation with poet and musician Hilà Lahav, A Song that Can't Be Sung, premiered at Schaubühne Lindenfels in Leipzig.
